Maldives 02: The Archipelago of Giants

The Maldives is the lowest-lying country on Earth, but underwater, its reputation towers above the rest. Composed of 26 coral atolls, this nation is not just about luxury overwater bungalows; it is a high-voltage channel diving destination. The strong currents flowing in and out of the atolls (Kandus) bring massive amounts of plankton, turning the archipelago into a magnet for megafauna. It is one of the few places on the planet where you can reliably see the ocean's biggest stars—Manta Rays and Whale Sharks—on a consistent basis, year-round.

Why We Chose This Sticker Design

This design celebrates the two most iconic shark encounters in the Maldivian atolls. Commanding the center frame is the Whale Shark, the gentle giant that makes South Ari Atoll world-famous for year-round sightings. To capture the unique biodiversity of the region, we also included two Tawny Nurse Sharks resting on the sandy bottom. These "puppy-like" sharks are a staple of Maldivian night dives, famous for piling on top of each other in the sand. We balanced the scene with a school of Moorish Idols, adding a splash of yellow to the deep blue backdrop.
